Secondly, from the structural point of view, the interior of the bushing type lightning arrester is not suitable for installing the safety trip protection device. Because the heat shrinkable tube needs high-temperature processing to shrink, and high-temperature processing will cause damage to the safety trip protection device, the heat shrinkable sleeve type lightning arrester is not suitable for the series type lightning arrester.
Again, from the perspective of safety performance, if the lightning arrester is pierced by lightning, because the flame retardancy effect of the thermoplastic sleeve is not very good, and there is no safety trip protection device inside, then the lightning arrester will probably catch fire when it is pierced by lightning, and the final result will be damage to the driver and the lamp board.
The potted lightning arrester has a large internal space and does not need high-temperature processing, so it can not only install a safety trip protection device, but also install a working status indicator according to the customer's requirements. At the same time, the potting glue can tightly wrap the electronic components after the potting, which effectively isolates the original components from the air. At this time, as long as the potting glue is fire-retardant and the shell is made of fire-retardant materials, the lightning arrester will not catch fire even if it is pierced by lightning, so that the driver and the lamp board can be effectively protected.
Finally, from the perspective of cost, the cost of the encapsulated lightning arrester is definitely higher than that of the heat shrinkable sleeve lightning arrester, but this may also be the only disadvantage of the encapsulated lightning arrester.
