How to be waterproof for buried floodlights outdoors

The first consideration for outdoor cable interconnection is the waterproofing of lighting equipment, whether the waterproof level of cable wiring connectors reaches IP68, and whether the material is resistant to corrosion and aging. To ensure safety and normal operation of the equipment, it is necessary to waterproof the equipment and cables.

According to the number of cable steps required for on-site lighting fixtures and the required joint connection devices for cable conversion, waterproof connectors or waterproof junction boxes are generally required for wiring sorting.

On site installation


1. First, organize the various components used for lighting fixtures.

2. Dig a hole according to the shape and size of the embedded part, and then fix the embedded part with concrete.

3. Prepare an IP67 or IP68 wiring device to connect the external power input to the power cord of the lamp body.

4. The power cord adopts a three core sheathed wire with wire specification H05RN-F 3G1.0mm2, and requires a waterproof power cord certified by VDE.

5. After the foundation solidifies, connect the external power supply to the lamp body power line using the self provided IP68 junction box, and fix the lamp body component and embedded parts with screws.

6. Tighten the panel onto the lamp body assembly with screws, and after confirming the above operation is correct, turn on the power.


Projection light components


The projector consists of three parts: optical components, mechanical components, and electrical components. The optical components mainly include reflectors and shading grids that restrict light. The mechanical components mainly include the casing, as well as the focusing mechanism for fixing and adjusting the position of the light source, the bracket and base for fixing the lamp, and the parts with angle indicators for adjusting the direction of the lamp beam projection. For the vast majority of enclosed floodlights, mechanical components also include protective glass and various sealing rings. According to the needs of the usage environment, some also come with metal mesh covers. The high-performance projector is also equipped with an air filter. The electrical components mainly include ballasts, capacitors, and triggers (designed according to the needs of the light source)
